Método MAMA
O Método MAMA de alfabetização é um método brasileiro que segue uma estrutura
aplicável a qualquer idioma, por isso é um método universal de alfabetização, e busca que a
criança ou que o adulto leia desde o primeiro dia.
Começou no Brasil em 2000, com mendigos e povo de rua, e sua estrutura estava
praticamente completa em 2006. Atualmente está na 10ª edição e é gratuito.
É para países de língua portuguesa, mas finalmente estamos adaptando para o francês e
para o inglês, visando os países mais pobres da África.
MAMA Method
The MAMA Literacy Method is a Brazilian method that follows a structure applicable
to any language, which is why it is a universal literacy method, and seeks to ensure that
children or adults read from the first day.
It started in Brazil in 2000, with beggars and street people, and its structure was
practically complete in 2006. It is currently in its 10th edition and is free.
It's for Portuguese-speaking countries, but we're finally adapting it to French and
English, targeting the poorest countries in Africa.
Brasil – Moçambique
O Método MAMA foi implantada em Moçambique (no distrito de Sofala) em Janeiro de
2023.
A família da criança beneficiada recebe um saco de um quilo de feijão uma vez por
semana (quinta-feira) para permitir que a respectiva criança participe de uma aula na terça-
feira e outra na quinta. É ao final da segunda aula que a família recebe o alimento e que a
professora recebe uma quantia simbólica (R$ 50,00 ou USD 12,00). Para a família receber, a
criança não pode se atrasar para as aulas nem faltar.
Brazil – Mozambique
The MAMA Method was implemented in Mozambique (in the Sofala district) in
January 2023.
The beneficiary child's family receives a one-kilo bag of beans once a week (Thursday)
to allow the respective child to participate in one class on Tuesday and another on Thursday.
It is at the end of the second class that the family receives the food and the teacher receives
a symbolic amount (R$ 50.00 or USD 12.00). For the family to receive it, the child cannot be
late for class or absent.
Tudo é controlado com fotos e vídeos, tanto a entrega do alimento quanto as aulas e
avaliações. Também é tudo documentado e autorizado pelos responsáveis; a criança precisa
ter certidão de nascimento para poder participar, o que acaba simultaneamente levando
cidadania à ela.
Abaixo temos o primeiro vídeo com a primeira aula de uma turma e o segundo vídeo
com a leitura de uma criança da mesma turma dois meses depois.
Everything is controlled with photos and videos, both food delivery and classes and
assessments. Everything is also documented and authorized by those responsible; The child
needs to have a birth certificate to be able to participate, which simultaneously ends up
giving them citizenship.
Below we have the first video with the first lesson of a class and the second video with
the reading of a child in the same class two months later.
Este foi um trabalho que quebrou paradigmas. Por exemplo, como crianças conseguem
aprender em uma situação de carência alimentar e sem estrutura. Claro que queremos que
elas se alimentem e que tenham mesas e cadeiras. O que estamos dizendo é que, mesmo sem
comida ou sem uma mesa, iremos alfabetizá-las.
This was work that broke paradigms. For example, how children manage to learn in a
situation of lack of food and structure. Of course we want them to eat and have tables and
chairs. What we are saying is that even without food or a table, we will teach them literacy.
O custo é de apenas R$ 1000,00 (U$D 250.00) por mês para uma turma com dez (10)
crianças. Lembrando, este é o custo mensal para ensinar dez crianças a ler e dar a cada família
um quilo de feijão toda semana. O processo de cada turma dura aproximadamente dois
meses. Temos todos os registros, documentos e controles de cada família e criança para
verificação. Atualmente o programa é financiado por amigos, professores e algumas empresas
parceiras.

Também está no YouTube como Método MAMA, para um adulto esforçado e que realmente
quer aprender sozinho pelos vídeos. Basta para isso um ponto de Internet.

The cost is just R$ 1000.00 (U$D 250.00) per month for a class with ten (10) children.
Remember, this is the monthly cost of teaching ten children to read and giving each family a
kilo of beans every week. The process for each class lasts approximately two months. We
have all records, documents and controls for each family and child for verification. Currently
the program is financed by friends, teachers and some partner companies.
